Marleen Huijben-Schoenmakers

Biography
Marleen Huijben- Schoenmakers has completed her Master of Science at the University of Utrecht, she studied nursing. Furthermore she studied ethical care at the Radboud University of Nijmegen and nowadays she is PHD candidate at the Free University of Amsterdam. Furthermore she is lecturer at the Avans University for Applied Sciences in Breda, The Netherlands. Her research topics are focused on stroke rehabilitation. She developed and implemented the exercise map on stroke units in nursing homes and by this the therapy time increased significantly with 50% to 150 minutes a day. She now is examining if the increased therapy time effects cognition in stroke patients.
